Mondays are: “WTF?” or “Eyewwww” or “That’s innerestin'” days…

(From Google Page: copied and pasted from "Useless Knowledge")

Dentistry in eighteenth-century Paris was horribly barbaric. Louis XIV had teeth pulled so roughly by an overzealous dentist that when he tried to drink his soup, it cascaded out of his nose.WTF? Dang!

The Japanese beetle, found in the eastern United States and Canada, is the only bug in these countries you need be concerned about if it becomes lodged in your ear, for it can chew through your eardrum in a matter of minutes. Other bugs can be removed without the same urgency.eyewwwwwww

Slime molds are half fungus and half bacteria. They live on the floor of South American rain forests and slither around like animals in search of food while, like a plant, they scatter spores that will become more slime molds.

The electric eel has thousands of electric cells, with those organs making up four-fifths of its body. It lives in the Amazon River and its tributaries and is the most shocking animal on Earth; no other animal packs such a big charge. If attacking a large prey, a 9-foot-long eel can discharge about 800 volts. One zap could easily stun a human senseless. The larger the eel, the bigger the charge. The electric eel’s shocking power is so great that it can overtake its victims while 15 feet away. well, that’s innerestin’…

Green Tip of the Day: Why, there are Green Ideas for Pets; just slap me silly! But, my favorite is "adopt from a shelter" – Here is the article on Planet Green

Healthy Living Tip of the day: Do you work on the muscles that you can see while looking in the mirror? Your chest, your biceps, front of thigh? I saw this all the time when I worked in the gym, and when I worked out in a gym – especially men. You need to work opposing muscles, too – back, triceps, and back of thigh. And women–strength training will not make you look bigger – it’s been said, but I’ll say it again. Strength training makes you strong, helps make your bones strong – you will feel more confident – your walk will feel purposeful and powerful – you will feel empowered! You don’t have to dedicate hours a day, even a little bit helps. Have a look at our Beautiful Muscles – our bodies are a wonder, a gorgeous living machine! However FORM is everything – I’ll talk more about form later.

Writer’s/Editor’s Tip of the Day: Duotrope’s Digest is " a database of over 2275 current markets for short fiction, poetry, and novels/collections" So, if you are looking for a place to submit, check out DD, where you can select categories to search for the market that best fits what you are looking for. (Of course, we editors at The Rose & Thorn hope you will think about us, too! We’re listed there, as well.)

Now…go get the day. Namaste.

You\’re right-on about strength training and form. As a former dancer (ballet) I can tell you those floor to ceiling mirrors serve a very definite purpose. Pound for pound female ballet dancers have more strength and stamina then a professional football player. A well-trained dancer has beautiful legs with wonderful muscle definition. A poorly trained dancer has overdevloped calves. But then you will never see them on stage.
(What does namaste mean? It sounds strange coming from a woman of the mountains. Would Clemmie/Clementine use that as a good-by, blessing, or whatever it is?)
