Friday Photos/Art: Rose & Thorn’s spring issue & hiking in the Smokies

I’ve been hiking twice this week in our Great Smoky Mountains. I’ve posted photos of both hikes on my Facebook page — stop by and take a look if you like! I wanted to post the photos here, but for some reason it is taking an awfully long time for the images to download and I must get back to work on The Lightning Charmer — I saw many things on my hike that brought me into this novel I’m working on now, since it, like Sweetie, is set in this area. I’ll post a couple though, from the parkway and from the hike itself.

One place was a “photography hike” at Flat Creek, and the other was to Hemphill Bald. The first was about 2.5 miles, and yesterdays to Hemphill Bald was about 9 in total (there and back). Lucky me to live where I do.

If you’ve not been to Rose & Thorn Journal yet, I hope you will stop by. The spring issue went live May 15. Our cover art (shown to the left) is fascinating–this is not a photograph, but instead a painting . . . you can stop by the R&T site to learn more about our cover art artist(s), gallery artists, prose, poetry, and staff.

Y’all go have a wonderful day and weekend — see you Monday for Monday Classroom!
